Club News:

The April meeting was a big success!  We had 28 people attending the meeting in the home of Mel and Barb Beaver.  Several topics were discussed and the minutes from that meeting follow:

Treasurer’s report: $2362.93 on hand and another $174 was brought in by the raffle.

Old Business:

·        Web site --- the site/domain name and program was renewed for another 3 years.  I paid the fee and the club motioned to reimburse me and it was seconded.

·        Red Wing Crocks --- discussed as possible item to have made for club members with our logo on it.  Members were asked to go to the website:  Red Wing Stoneware and on the left hand column, click on personalized and it will show the items that the club could buy.  It generally takes a minimum of 35 pieces so if you would give your top three picks to a club officer, we can determine the most popular and determine if we have enough interest to buy the item.

New Business:

·        Christmas party – John Lalla and Jenny Strayhall looked into several options for a place to hold this year’s party.  Six different locations were approached and the one that was selected to go with is The Depot Crossing in Grinnell IA.  The motion was made by Craig Leaf and seconded by Becky Brennan.  It will be held on December 4th and start at 5 pm.

The June meeting was held at the home of Ron and Char Haring.  Of course, there was plenty of cold Pepsi and lots of food.  We had a very good turnout despite the rain, luckily it stopped and we were able to have the picnic outdoors as planned.  The main event was the election of new officers for the position of president and treasurer.  Our new president is Terry Strayhall and our treasurer is now Jenny Strayhall.  We want to thank Mel and Barb Beaver for their services while they were in those positions.  They are not easy jobs and we appreciate all they did!

The treasurer’s report stated we have $2,287.95 before the selling of raffle tickets which added an additional $160.00.

The next meeting will be at the home of Pete and Belinda Block.  Their address is 122 Sunset Dr., Otley IA 50214.  They are located south of the town of Otley on Hwy 14.  I have included a printout of their location, any questions please call 515-263-0051.
